Cataract Treatment

The procedure in most patients does not require any injection or stiches. In the hands of experienced eye surgeon it is a fairly pain free procedure not requiring hospitalization. The patient is discharged on same day with the whole process including tests takes approx. two hours while the actual surgery time is 10 – 20 minutes only. Phacoemulsification is a modern cataract surgery in which the eye's internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic hand piece and aspirated from the eye. This is followed by placement of permanent intraocular lens.
